Friday, 10th May at 10.30am, Lecture Theatre, Waikato Museum.

If you are unable to attend the Friends' 50th celebrations on 9th May (as numbers are limited) then you can take up the opportunity to attend a talk and exhibition viewing entitled Art and Wonder: Panel talk at which Peter Dornauf, author of the book "101 Contemporary Waikato Artists" and Dr Nadia Gush, curator of Art and Wonder: Gifts from the Friends of Waikato Museum, will be speaking.

Bus trip to Auckland Art Gallery, Thursday, 25th July, 2024. 

We are organising a Friends bus trip to Auckland Art Gallery to see the Robertson Gift exhibition: "Paths through Modernity".

The exhibition, which features 49 paintings, prints, drawings and sculpture covering the best of late-19th- and early-to-mid 20th-century international art, includes the gift to the Gallery by New York philanthropists Julian and Josie Robertson of 15 works by influential modern European artists, including Pierre Bonnard, Georges Braque, Paul Cezanne, Salvador Dalí, André Derain, Henri Fantin-Latour, Paul Gauguin, Fernand Léger, Henri Matisse, Piet Mondrian and Pablo Picasso.
