Self-Led Groups in the Museum
Sometimes it may suit your needs better to lead your own group through an exhibition or through several galleries in the Museum instead of booking an educator.
We are very happy for you to lead your own visit and welcome all groups into the museum. We always look forward to seeing you.
However, please book your visit in advance so that we can manage gallery availability and use. When a gallery is overcrowded the quality of everyone's experience is affected. Unfortunately we cannot guarantee that your group will be immediately able to enter the galleries you wish to visit if we are not expecting you and another group is already booked into that space. Depending on numbers we may ask you to spend some time in another part of the Museum before you visit the gallery you have come to see. This will allow the booked group to finish their session and increases the opportunities for both groups to get the most out of your time with us.
To ensure the best experience during your visit, please:
- pre-book
- ensure you have sufficient adult supervision for groups of children
- talk through our guidelines with your group before you arrive
- arrange to leave bags at your base or on the bus
