Visual Arts highlights
The Vitrine - This is a feature artist space showcasing the best of nationally acclaimed visual and applied artists in Aotearoa. The vitrine is located directly opposite the entrance to the museum. Each year we invite an artist to respond to the Anzac commemorations.
Other highlights are our new acquisitions. Our policy is to try to collect works that are relevant to the Waikato and that are current in international contemporary art practice. We are privileged to house many collections of note such as the Miller Collection, Trust Waikato Collection and the Barry Hopkins' collection among the many.
