Newcomers is an exhibition introducing you to the more recent acquisitions from the Trust Waikato, Barry Hopkins, Waikato Museum and private collections that have found their new home here.
Works of art are collected for the purpose of creating a visual and cultural footprint of the Waikato at this point in history. Art works arrive from the 19th, 20th and 21st century offering us a pretty reasonable idea about the land, cultural, political and even spiritual climate of the times we live in.
