Muddy Fun - A clay day for kids

Where:  Waikato Museum
When:   Sunday 18 December 2011, 10am to 3pm
Who:     Waikato Society of Potters in conjunction with the Waikato Museum

This fun day for the whole family will give a rare opportunity for children to experience clay and fire. The Waikato Society of Potters is pleased to be able to organise a series of activities that will happen throughout the day.

We will be firing up the Raku kiln and having pieces for sale that can be decorated and fired before your eyes, presents you can take home in time for Christmas. We will also have potter’s wheels and experts on hand to guide you through the tricky art of making pots on the wheel. Other activities, like the infamous slippery dip, will also be offered to entice everyone to get their hands dirty.

Information about the the pottery classes, including the Sunday morning children’s class, and our Society will be available on the day.
