'Wild Wheels Workshop' with sculptor Gaye Jurisich

Here's a challenge for all you creative designers out there!  Design, construct and decorate an innovative  vehicle out of 'found' materials in a workshop that encourages you to think about the technology of a moving vehicle as well as the ways in which you can build a piece of mobile art. You'll be inspired by, and get to swap ideas with, Hamilton sculptor, Gaye Jurisich. There are two workshops, one for ages 9-12 and one for ages 5-8. Both workshops run for several hours over two days.

Parents must remain contactable during the workshop duration.

Tues 6 April, 10am - 12noon AND Wed 7 April, 1-4pm (ages 9-12)
Mon 12 April AND Tues 13 April, 10am-12noon (ages 5-8)
$10 per child
Maximum 12 children per group. Booking required

Awesome Activities

Come along for a bunch of fun activities - something different each day from creating a simple hovercraft to ta moko stamping and rubbings.

Parents must remain in the Museum for the duration of the activity.

Weekdays 6-16 April (except Wed 14 April), 11am-12noon

Hear weird and wacky record-breaking adventures, see how it's done, have a go, have your Guinness Book of World Records signed! Alastair is an independent world record-breaker who took to world record-breaking in 2004 after being inspired by a record-setting rally driver in Kenya. During the show you'll get to see some of his world records gear and even have a chance to try some simple world record challenges.
